| This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid Cache.
There is an INK PAD and a unique RUBBER STAMP that must
remain in the cache for other players to use after your
visit.
Have fun with this one. If you don't have your own rubber stamp,
then DRAW A PICTURE IN THE LOG BOOK! Go ahead and stamp your
forehead or hand or something with the one in the cache! The ink
will wear off eventually... |
This is one of many new caches placed in Jonathan Dickinson
State Park for CacheApalooza 3. You will enjoy a nice hike through
a Pine Flatwoods habitat to find this cache. Flatwoods have, as the
name implies, a low, flat topography, but because of this and
generally poor drainage, small differences in elevation result in
major vegetation changes. The pine flatwoods -- typically dotted
with cypress domes, cabbage palm flatwoods, marshes, and other
habitats -- is the matrix that ties many other Florida ecosystems
together. Common shrubby understory plants in JDSP include saw
palmetto, gallberry, wax myrtle and turkey oaks. The herbaceous
ground cover, dominated by wiregrass, may be sparse, or it may be
very diverse in sites with open canopies and shrub cover.

Went out with hubby and son to find some caches we didn't get to during CP3. Hit this trail on our bikes early after we checked out of the hotel and had breakfast. It sure isn't easy. I had to walk my bike for a bit on and off and on again. Alot of good caches on this trail. TNLNSL. TFTC.

They did a control burn in the area but the cache is OK. The ziplock bag got a little melted, but everything is fine. Thanks -footTRAX

Our last loop for Cacheapalooza 3. Before heading home, we drove to the back side of the park and had to grab up a couple more after the CITO. Thanks for all the great caches and hard work this year. We had a great time.
