Bike Trail DECON #7
Old School Caching also needs to include some
caches for those of us that maybe have a hard time with an 18 mile
hike under the hot Florida sun. So, for all of us, Jonathan
Dickinson State Park put in a really nice paved bicycle
trail. This series of caches will take you along its 1 mile
length and provide you with a bunch of caches along the way.
The trail also includes some dirt double track that runs along the
power lines so there is something for the more adventurous
too. Then from the power lines there is a trail back to the
bike path that used to be an easy ride but was just tilled and when
I placed the caches was too loose to ride on, at least with my
ability.
The container is not very large but will hold
small trade items. Each will start with a hand made
signature Butterdish Beaded Key Chain. If you already have
one, please leave the others so another cacher can grab one.
There is a pen but it would be wise to bring one with you just the
same.
All are just off the trail a bit and have a
clear path to them if you go the right way. As always you
will be walking in the scrub areas so be aware that there are these
sharp things called saw palmettos and prickly pear cactus and holes
made by wild boars so please be careful when you walk in,
especially if you choose to do them at night. There are also
Alligators in the area, DO NOT MESS WITH THEM!
