| You are looking for an ammo container located on the north end of the Trapper Nelson property. You'll need a boat. |
Even though Trapper Nelson had an impressive spread of land he didn’t buy it all at one time. He strategically purchased from neighbors to increase his holdings in one area at a time resulting in a decent size zone of contiguous ownership. Oftentimes, after purchasing property no improvements were made. If ditches were on the property they were left unfilled. If fence lines were up they were usually left. Sometimes he cut the wire, sometimes he didn’t. As a result there are several old fence lines crisscrossing the property that don’t seem to go anywhere. This cache is located on one of those fence lines. No one knows who put up this particular fence but it’s located in the vicinity of property owned by the Lieb family which means it’s at least 70 years old. There isn’t much left, just 4 or 5 rough cut posts still up with a few nails sticking out. Time, termites and fire has claimed the rest.

I found this cache while on a 7 mile, 7 cache hike around Trapper Nelson's former "Stomping Grounds". It was a great day for hiking around and geocaching! Temps were in the mid 60s, and there was a light breeze blowing.
I saw this cache hooked high on the "Fence Post" as I was approaching. When I was done signing, I placed it at the base of the post. There is an exotic vegetation crew working the area, and I wanted to reduce the "Muggability" factor somewhat.

My 3500th find! Nice one! I hate leaving my kayak way back there, but I did. I'm afraid somebody will take off with it. I found the cache easy. When I saw it, I was thinking "Would lighting be attracted to this thing?".
Nice little history! I hurried up and hiked back to my kayak. I saw some people walking out here and got worried. It was still there when I got back. (calm down------> ME) Thanks, left a C3 Pathtag -footTRAX

After grabbing the nearby "unfound" cache, I headed over to this one. Only a local would know where this post is..thanks for the find!

Did some kayaking and hiking with Bumper McV to get to the caches near the river. I had my dog, Jake along for the ride. He enjoyed the time on solid land. I let Bumper do the heavy duty bushwhacking for this one. Jake's legs were too short for the palmettos.

Grabbed this one with Caching Angel 777 and her dog Jake as we kayaked down the river. The three of us hiked down the trail to get the smiley on this one. As usual, I picked the more interesting route in (400 ft bushwhack) and then find the easy way out. We were suprised to get an FTF on this one after others had already kayaked and hiked in the area.
