Water hazard! You might want to bring along some nice boots, or maybe just sandals to get through it! Decon container, please put back as found.

The Antrozous pallidus bat also known as the pallid bat is different from the other bats as it gets most of its food from the ground. After swooping down upon its prey, the pallid bat carries the insect to a convenient perch to consume its meal. Its most common prey include crickets, beetles, grasshoppers, and even scorpions. The pallid bat is actually immune to a scorpion's sting! Pallid bats roost in rock crevices, buildings, and bridges in arid regions. They are found from Mexico and the southwestern United States north through Oregon, Washington, and western Canada.

Glad our feet stayed dry for this one. The water level in the park is super low, making these water hazards null and void! I've cached on this loop previously in the summertime, and remember trying to carry Eliana on my back as I ventured down the thigh-high deep puddles on the trail. That didn't last long. Today, you didn't need a set of bat wings to stay dry around here. Nice hide. TFTC!

I went on a huge hike with the baby and wife today. I think we did about 10 miles. I took off my shoes for this one because I didn't want to start my day caching with wet feet. Cool Cypress tree! -footTRAX
