The Loxahatchee River
Canoe Trail is officially designated as part of Florida’s Statewide
System of Greenways and Trails. This is also the first river in
Florida designated as a National Wild and Scenic River. The
coffee-colored Loxahatchee meanders through a subtropical river
swamp. The Seminole’s named the river “Loxahatchee”, which means
river of turtles. Bald cypress, pond apple, orchid, and fern line
the bank. Heron and osprey fly overhead. Wildlife to watch include
otter, raccoon, alligator, bobcat and, as the river’s name
suggests, turtles basking in the sun. Along the trail in the state
park is Trapper Nelson’s cabin, an interpretive site where you can
learn about this interesting character.

I found this cache while on a 7 mile, 7 cache hike around Trapper Nelson's former "Stomping Grounds". It was a great day for hiking around and geocaching! Temps were in the mid 60s, and there was a light breeze blowing. I saw lots of wildlife, and lots of signs of the troublesome feral pigs that are here too.
TFTC!
I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE USING ME! THIS IS SUCH A THANKLESS JOB.

I did some hiking with my kayaking shoes. The one shoe had a slit down the middle of the bottom. I kept getting dirt in my shoe. I saw from Google Earth that I can hike from here to get the "On the Fence" one. I found it with no trouble. Thanks -footTRAX
